Normal fitness training does not guarantee the proper exercise of the back supporting muscles and the stabilizing intervertebral muscles. Common back exercises mostly affect the Gluteal muscle that is responsible for hip extension. Badly performed abdominal exercises can even be harmful for the lower back. People who perform a lot of fitness training tend to have relatively stronger abdominal muscles compared to the back extension muscles.
