Dear David Partners
We are delighted to be able to announce our first international World Forum to be held in the beautiful surroundings of Bad Bentheim in Germany. Although this is the first such meeting with the “new David”, this is a continuation of a long tradition within David only broken during the past decade when I was out of the picture.
The network of users and partners around the world has always been an important force behind the innovation at David. Already in the late 80’s we understood that people with different backgrounds and environments brought invaluable contribution for the common good of all users around the world. This lead to a systematic collection of data and feed-back from users in early 90’s and eventually to the formation of the spine treatment program, which today is de facto standard in many countries.
What was especially fascinating in this process was the very different approach to spine rehab in different countries. In Germany it was (and still is) very much strength focused while in Scandinavia it was more centered around coordination and motor control and the integration of other physiotherapy skills was more prominent.
Since the advent of the EVE system we are able to bring a whole new dimension to this collaboration. When earlier programs were written in manuals, people either used them or not, with the use of templates we can now create programs that contain the best knowledge from all around the world and categorize them based on diagnoses and individual needs. After using the system for close to two years, we are confident that it is now time to start to rework the best program models and provide new universal templates to all users.
We want to use this opportunity also to learn to know one another more personally and also provide possibilities for people around the world to discuss with each other matters concerning the treatment, technology and marketing. From my discussions with different people in different countries I can safely say that this kind of interaction will bring new knowledge to the table for everyone to use in a practical manner.
